GIORGETTI IN HAMBURG

The Art of Forming

The Giorgetti company was founded in 1898 as an artistic carpentry workshop. Its customers included the Milanese nobility and soon also quality-conscious connoisseurs abroad. The skill in shaping solid wood, joining individual pieces together without the use of any kind of glue, testifies to the long-standing experience in furniture making. So competent in wood processing and equally inspired by creativity, Giorgetti relied on collaboration with famous architects, artists, urban planners and intellectuals to develop innovative solutions for contemporary furniture designs.

Today, Giorgetti is internationally known for its own harmonious style. The company is allowed to bear the seal “Made and manufactured in Italy”, an award that guarantees the excellent quality of its incomparable furniture.

The best pieces of the worldwide Giorgetti collection are on display at Bornhold in Hamburg, where you will receive perfect advice on every single piece of furniture in all versions.

OUR FAVORITE FROM GIORGETTI

Armchair "Arabella"

This curved swivel chair with just one armrest is an absolute classic. It can be fitted on the left or right, as desired.
The backrest has an interior made of spring steel for greater elasticity and ergonomic comfort. And the seat contributes enormously to the comfort thanks to the padding of varying thicknesses. The seat structure made of multi-layered poplar wood and a bronze-lacquered plate contains a steel mechanism with ball bearings for perfect rotation. The spring balls inserted in the base facilitate movement.

For particularly long-lasting beauty, the fabric or soft leather cover can be completely removed. The fact that this is done effortlessly, as the buttons are attached to an elastic thread, shows Giorgetti's customer-oriented understanding down to the smallest detail.

CARPETS BY WALTER KNOLL

Chimbuka Carpet

There is a Swahili saying: “A good beginning promises a good ending.” Chimbuka means sunrise, and the design reflects the colors of the sky: intense reds and blues as they shine in the morning or evening light.

Walter Knoll's carpets, created in collaboration with textile designer Helmut Scheufele, were inspired by the landscapes and colors of Africa. They draw their strength from the rich creativity of the African continent and are translated into timeless, knotted works of art.
