FLEXFORM IN HAMBURG

Casual design from the heart of Italy

Flexform is a family business run by the third generation. The company was founded as a craft business by the Galimberti brothers in 1959, where design and architecture play the main role: in the immediate vicinity of Milan, in the Brianza region. From their first showroom, their sofas and armchairs quickly found their way into the palazzi of Milan, the villas on Lake Como and the elegant houses of Italy. The second generation expanded production further, trading under the name Flexform SpA from 1967 onwards and starting cooperations with the most important designers of the time. In the 1970s, Flexform shaped a new, casually elegant style with the young architect Antonio Citterio.

The contemporary designs for products with generous proportions, with large and soft cushions that characterize the style of the upholstered furniture, have brought Flexform success and constant growth for over four decades. An identity with purely Italian values makes the brand so strong: a single country where the products are designed and manufactured, a factory in Meda where everything is made with raw materials and products from the local area, a purely Italian success story.

Flexform has received numerous awards, including the Wallpaper Design Award, and is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

ARCHITEKT UND DESIGNER

Casual design from the heart of Italy

OUR FAVORITE FROM FLEXFORM

Sofa "Adda"

The new, modular Adda sofa was designed by Antonio Citterio and is available for you to try out with a view of the Alster at Bornhold in Hamburg. It is characterized by elegant longitudinal seams on the back and armrests, which create a gentle curve. It also impresses with its straight shape, the spacious look, the high-quality materials. The seat cushions made of down with a non-deformable core, the removable covers made of fabric or leather, the metal frame with protective cover and the metal feet, which are available in chrome, black, satin, burnished or champagne - all of this gives this piece of furniture so much variability that it can be delivered to suit your personal living space. Of course, in different sofa widths and seat depths.

CARPETS BY WALTER KNOLL

Chimbuka Carpet

There is a Swahili saying: “A good beginning promises a good ending.” Chimbuka means sunrise, and the design reflects the colors of the sky: intense reds and blues as they shine in the morning or evening light.

Walter Knoll's carpets, created in collaboration with textile designer Helmut Scheufele, were inspired by the landscapes and colors of Africa. They draw their strength from the rich creativity of the African continent and are translated into timeless, knotted works of art.
